Free Zone is a fun gay bar that features great drink specials, food, and drag shows. The night I went they had a drag show going on. You can sit at the bar and gamble. The bar itself is fairly large with room to dance or hang out. They have a large parking lot outside. I would come here first to get good prices on drinks, then go to Piranha if you really want to, or just stay at Free Zone.
Good bartenders and easy-going in the afternoon. But it's DEFINITELY a lesbian bar. And a very normal, mainstrean, middle of the road crowd. A neighborhood bar/casino like Wildfire or PT's is mor einteresting.
Meh. Mostly lesbians. Low key and kinda bland.
Unless you're a 20-something lesbian you won't find anything to be excited about here. Bartenders are skilled and friendly, beer and liquor selection is good. Prices are reasonable, happy hour is a good value. Pleasant enough hangout if you're passing through. Sadly there's no special style, no theme, no unique charisma. Just a nice hole in the wall de facto lesbian bar.
It's Okay for Starters
This is a good place for young or older lesbians, but the other half ( gay men )are easily there too. Specials aplenty right now. After midnight on friday and saturday is $10 all you can drink well liquor. You can get $2 well drinks on wendsdays and thursdays too. Drag shows occur on wendsdays, fridays, and saturdays. Dancing follows. Less crowded, plus drink specials, than Piranha across the street.
THEY DONT PAY NEW HIRES
Be warned, this establishment takes on new hires for security claiming that their time labored is AUDITION TIME. In speaking with the labor commission today, they stated outright that is illegal and wages must be paid. If you are considering working for this bar as a bartender, cook, and most especially, one of the more dangerous jobs...security, they will rip you off for a night or two of free labor. Russ and Tony need to learn better management and etiquette. They must be using the pay they are withholding for their drug habits, read another review left by Edward Sanchez... My friend worked two nights, was told the first night he would be paid, but that it was an audition , not a guarantee for a job, he was called back a second night and now, Russ the owner and Tony the manager are refusing to pay him. #FREEZONE If my friend is not paid we will establish a legal protest, anyone else ripped off by this place is welcome to join.
